Lobster in Boston

My daughter and I spent three days in Boston last week and stayed in Somerville. We ate at The Mount Vernon Restaurant, which was right around the corner from where we were staying and had their twin lobster special for $16.99. It was outstanding! I have heard this old family restaurant advertised for a couple of years on WBZ radio and was anxious to check it out. The following night we ate at their other location in Revere Beach and had the roast beef special which came with the largest and best popovers I've had in years. Can't wait to go back!

Now you're just making me homesick! I had a business in Somerville, so ate at the Mount Vernon quite frequently. After leaving South Boston I lived RIGHT on Revere Beach. And yes, the food is quite good as you reported.

Sorry to make you homesick but I hope I brought back a lot of good memories. Sure wish that it wasn't a three-hour drive from our home in CT or I'd be there every weekend! Right now, with the price of gas as high as it is, it would cost more to drive there than it would for the dinner.
