I would love to get this forum's opinions on the best burgers in South Florida. As a Florida native, I have my favorites but I will share them later. Any thoughts out there?

How far south is south? A favorite of mine is the HobNob in Sarasota. Also Biff Burger in St Pete and Copper Monkey in Gainesville are notable. And the "10-0-One" in St Pete.

A place I have fallen in love with a little place in central FL called the Fish Place, in Mulberry, just south of Lakeland. The building was erected in 1907 and the owners have had this place since 1968 and the food is excellent. Since they won the best burger in Polk Co contest they have been swamped and with good reason. Hamburger is huge, and really super. Fish is good also and they open at 6 a.m 6 days a week for breakfast.

Too bad Royal Castle is gone from the scene for about thirty years. Their burgers were in the same league as White Castle and Krystal. Is Cheeburger Cheeburger still cooking them up on Las Olas Blvd? quote:Originally posted by Bluemaxx I would love to get this forum's opinions on the best burgers in South Florida. Ohhhhhhh, I miss Royal Castle so much, we used to skip our first couple period's in high school (1970-72), and go get a couple dozen of those lil guys and some birch beer and head to Peacock Park in Coconut Grove until it was time for home room! They were better than the Krystals, but Krystal does make a mighty fine one! I can just taste one now! I am salivating here like Pavlov's dog.
