Nite Owl Drive-In

I noticed my cholesterol was getting a little low and decided to try the Nite Owl Drive-In in Milwaukee. For $3.40, I ordered a Jumbo Cheeseburger. This gigantic, freshly patted burger was flat grilled to perfection and smothered with an abundance of American cheese. It was a classic melt-in-your-mouth burger that rated right up there with The Spot of Kenosha and Kewpee's of Racine. The Nite-Owl closes for the season December 17th, so I guess I'll have to behave until the spring. CSD

That sounds good but maybe not the Jumbo. I love flat grilled burgers. I'm not into thick burgers. The abundance of American cheese sounds right up my alley.

Sounds very tasty CSD. Any details for us frequent visitors from the flatlands as to where the Nite Owl is located?

The Nite-Owl is located at 830 Layton in Milwaukee. Exit I94 at Layton and head east. It's east of Howell at the north end of Mitchell Field. The jumbo cheeseburger is a fine flat, pressed, juicy, patty. They also make a double jumbo. Too much meat for me. There are no thick burgers here! A review of the Nite-Owl can be found under "Restaurants. Go to "Wisconsin" and "hamburgers." That's where I found it.

My first stop at the Night Owl was after a story I read about Elvis's last Wisconsin meal. According to the tale, he had his private plane wait until one of his ontourage picked up his burgers. Anyway I was starving so I ordered a triple; couldn't fit my mouth around it and ate it by nibbling. They also have bottles of malt vinegar on the tables so I may try their fish fry.
