Fried Jalapenos with sausage filling?
Years ago, before they became really popular and became known as poppers, I had some fried jalapenos in Texas, just north of Dallas. They were stuffed with crumbled, spicy sausage instead of cheese. And instead of being coated with a thin breadcrumb coating, were coated with a thick, bread-like coating. The coating was about 1/4 to 1/3 inch thick all around, and soft. They were great.
I haven't seen them anywhere since (maybe because I live in CT).
Has anyone else had these? Does anyone know where these can be found, hopefully in the Northeast?
