B.B.Q. sauces

I posted on the bottled bbq sauce thread about Rudolph's bbq sauce. I like it because it is sweet. They have a website where you can contact them to find out how you can purchase their sauce. www.rudolphsribs.com

Another place I like is Hog Heaven. Their sauce is sweet too.

I'm also a fan of Roadhouse BBQ sauce. I met Buddy two weeks ago while planning the Chicago Italian Beef Tour and he gave me a bottle of his sauce. My wife and I tried it that night for dinner. To sum it up in one word "WOW!" All pure ingredients with no artificial preservatives or oils. The sauce is absolutely wonderful. This summer, we'll be selling BBQ and pulled pork sandwiches using the Roadhouse Original Sauce.

They don't ship it, but I always pick up a supply of the house brand "Smokehouse" when I get by Lexington # 1 BBQ in Lexington, NC. Our "kids" (son from Brooklyn and daughter from Winchester, KY) came down to visit over the week-end, and the only special request they had was that we drive the 70 miles to Lexington so each of us could get a large tray of lean brown chopped Q, coleslaw, hushpuppies and cherry cobbler and they could pick up a case of the sauce to take back home with them. Man, we raised them right to appreciate the finer things in life!!

Give this a try, you wont want any other. The rub is awesome too.

I want to thank you all for the great information, now I need more place to display all of them. Anyone have a good idea on this. I now have them in a three shelf, two door, cabinet, and have to open the doors to show off this great collection. I need a larger thing with glass front. Any ideas out ther? Let me know. I now have over a hundred, and also have a large hot sauce collection, that needs a new home, also.

That hotsauceworld link that tsores posted has lotsa sauces! I've got to try some of Buddy's Roadhouse! Has anyone tried adding some juce from the cooked meat to the BBQ sauce? I do it all the time.

Try BBQ Center next time in Lexington. My wife and daughters prefer it to Lex #1 (I prefer Lex #1). It is really good and just slightly below Lex # 1, IMHO.

Pappy's Triple X and Pappy's Sauce for Sissies are also very good, as are Moonlite (the spicy one) and Woody's Cookin' Sauce.
I miss the Woody's because it was my husband's and my favorite, but I can't find it locally anymore.

Ok folks, what does that post tell you about Tom Jenkins bbq!

I too am a bbq sauce connoiseur and have been for years.. I developed my own famous sauce and rub combination which you can find on my website at

Too many sauces are just ordinary and tastes like everyone else's.. real bbq sauce is more than just throwing together all of the things you like into some ketchup, it is something that must compliment the meat without overpowering. It is not supposed to be the star it is supposed to help the meat be a star.

I never serve sauce on the meat.. it is always on the side. Just my $0.02 worth;-)

BTW.. I am looking for the worlds greatest Alabama white sauce recipe. If anyone knows of a good one let me know please.

Famous Dave's "Texas Deep Pit" is pretty good for BBQ sauce you can buy at the store. Also Cookie's "Western Style" is good.

I've had a few BBQ sauces in my day and I have to tell you one of the best is being made as we speak by Jeff Zeider, a poster on roadfood.com

I love his sauce!  I believe CC in NJ has tried it, too.  Jeff is selling it over the Internet and some of you have ordered it.  Every comment as far as I know has been very positive. 

I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff last month in Orlando.  He is a nice young man.  He and his father are involved in this venture as well as the concession food business.  His grandfather started it.

Check out this sauce!  He has another one, too.
