Cape cod Freaky News Sun, 02/5/06 3:15 AM (permalink)

I just read the above in the Portland Press, (Maine) times, and it shocked me so.

This is not the way the Portland press, (maine) reported it.
I wish I could find the story line as the Press printed it. The byline was so different. Same basic story, but more information....

To say the least, I am totally shocked, and as we know, there isnt much the police can do about this situation, except what they have done alreay.....

"shudder" about that!

Times are bad in New England these days, it would seem (and before you jump, I'm very much a lover of these six states).

    To wit:

Of course, I can't resist, at this point, quoting from an article in the latest New Yorker: One of the puzzling things about New York City is that, after the enormous and well-publicized reductions in crime in the mid-nineteen-nineties, the crime rate has continued to fall. In the past two years, for instance, murder in New York has declined by almost ten per cent, rape by twelve per cent, and burglary by more than eighteen per cent. Just in the last year, auto theft went down 11.8 per cent. On a list of two hundred and forty cities in the United States with a population of a hundred thousand or more, New York City now ranks two hundred-and-twenty-second in crime, down near the bottom with Fontana, California, and Port St. Lucie, Florida. (The pit bull article)

When my dad died of liver cancer several years ago he was on liquid morphine for the pain. He had 2 750ml bottles at home that I wound up pouring down the drain so that my junkie sister didn't get her hands on them. Drugs can really mess a person up.

Good thing its off season Cape seems to be taking it on the chin. Chow Jim
