Spangles recently started opening restaurants here in Topeka. As far as I know, they only have locations in Kansas. They are a "local chain" headquartered in Wichita, and have very good breakfasts, burgers and pitas. Their newer locations have a very 50's "Happy Days" motif, and they advertise incessantly on TV. Apparently, they're going into Kansas City next.

Anyone else here ever eaten at Spangles?

I live in Wichita and have had the unfortunate experience of eating at Spangles. They try to create a 50's feel, which I think is overdone. They are overpriced and their tv comercials make me want to gouge my eyes out and puncture my ear drums. The only half edible thing on the menu is the mushroom and swiss burger on sourdough, but I always have to add salt. The only reason I have for going there is they serve burgers for breakfast and as much as I don't care for Spangles, I like them a lot more than Burger King.

Well, if you're in Wichita, I can only imagine the volume of Spangle's commercials and locations you have. I assume that directions to anywhere in Wichita include "and then turn left at the Spangles".

They're still a novelty here in Topeka. Their burgers are much better than BK, IMO, though I do prefer Braum's to either one. Too bad the closest Braum's is Emporia - we have to REALLY want a Braum's burger and ice cream to drive there.

Just wait until they open the projected 30 locations in metro KC

30 locations???? That is not a pleasant thought.

They have said that they were going to open 3 more here in Topeka in addition to the 2 we already have.

I just checked their website and there are only 15 in Wichita. It sure seems like a lot more. I used to live in Topeka about 6 years ago and I think 2 would be enough.

I kept looking at this subject and thinking to myself, where have I seen Spangles, and then I read all the post's...Voila!-Lightbulb went on!
On my trip out to Colorado last August, I stopped at one and got an iced tea thru the drive thru..Their cups are very durable and lasted quite some time on my miles of driving.
That is the most experience with a Spangles.
