when i was growing up, we never had corned beef and cabbage; it was always boiled ham, cabbage and mother referred to this as "pig's ass and cabbage" we'd pour ketchup over the cabbage..thought it was great..but what was even better is when she took all the leftovers, threw it in a pan with butter and plenty of pepper..we'd rather have that than the ham and cabbage. anyone else ever had this?
