Back Yard Burgers

Being from Memphis, Tennessee one of my favorite things to do, everytime I return home to visit my family, is to head over the BYB to get a double BYB and seasoned fries. Anyone else out there like them? Furthermore, does anyone know why they haven't expanded more? I currently reside in Columbus, Ohio and there isn't a BYB anywhere around here. The closest one is in Kentucky somehwere.

There was a Back Yard Burger store on Bethel Road for almost a year before it went out of business a few years ago. Folks around Columbus prefer their own back yard burgers, I guess. By the way, there is one still open in Ohio. It's in Toledo. But you'd probably better hurry.

That kinda bums me out to know that I just missed it, apparently. Because, it wasn't here when I got to C-Bus in 1999. BYB is good eating in my opinion. It sounds, though, like there a number of folks here that aren't too fond of their food. I just know that when given the choice between the "big 3" in burger chains, BYB was always a welcome choice in Memphis. They have great chicken sandwiches too: a Hawaiian and a Blackened version. Good stuff.

quote:http://www.backyardburgers.com/investorrelations/contacts/ Thanks for the suggestion. I just shot them an e-mail and suggested that they open one on the campus of Ohio State and maybe out in the suburbs of Columbus. I think it could be wildly succsessful if opened in the right part of the city.

Humph, I feel out of the loop with this thread, not only doesn't DC have a Back Yard Burger, I don't even have a back yard. I have a driveway back there, but no "yard." Oh well. I can still fit a grill back there.

We have visited the one BYB in Louisville. It was ok, but tends to run a bit more pricie than the 'step-up' burger stands ( Steak and Shake and Culvers). The one thing they did have that I like was the Blackberry Cobbler...but one time the portion was outstanding, and the next time I tried it I got just over a teaspoonful. The item is very good, the local help inconsistent. The one stand is in the Hurstbourne Industrial park. It seems to draw very well for lunch. I am not sure about business levels in the evening.

McDonalds and Burger King are much more guilty of offending our taste buds than my beloved Arby's who here is defending either of those two places? not, I!

We have a BYB here in Huntsville, AL. I tried it and didn't like it. Tried it again, and the same. Uck! To expensive for "fast food" and the food wasn't that good. But, it seems to do an OK business. And as always "to each his own."

I have tried BYB on two different occassions and found it very overpriced and the food was not that great...I was not impressed with any part of the experience.
