Has anybody cooked up hog jowl other than me? It tastes better than bacon,a little saltier, but,Lord,it is Heaven! What say you?

An old college friend used to fry up sliced, smoked, hog jowl in a skillet until it was golden brown. He ate it between two pieces of white bread with mustard and onions. I distinctly remember listening to his arteries hardening while he devoured these "death wish" sandwiches. After graduation, he completed medical school, became a cardiologist, had a series of heart attacks, and eventually made it to heaven. CSD

I love hog jowl. I get it at my local grocery store already sliced up. It reminds me of fatback, but less salty and with a bit more meat.
