First & Last, Hartford ...

It has been easily 15 years since I was last at the First & Last.

It used to be just a sliver of a place that only sold shells and sauce with meatballs or sausage. It was awesome.

They had just expanded when I left the area and started doing what was reputed to be very good pizza.

Yesterday, I went into the old, original, side of the place and had a very good pizza and for old times sake had a side of shells and sauce. They haven't changed a thing -- still superb.

I think First & Last is tremendous, the best in Hartford, and on a good day up there with the New Haven stalwarts

It is the only place I've ever found that uses the same pepperoni as Pepe's . . . a very fine grind
