Funny photo booth! Mon, 03/27/06 8:20 AM (permalink)
I'm thinking about buying a photo booth for my BBQ, a la, the kind you see on Boardwalks. This is a little different,as it allows you to morph your picture onto thousands of different body images of your choosing, you get 4 pictures.

The booth is about $7500.00 one needs to charge$4.00-5.00 per session. The pictures are hilarious.

Would you spend this for yourself or your child/grandchilds entertainment?

What say you?

Morphing software seems to come with every computer or printer nowdays.. You'd be better (and cheaper) off just setting up a computer, video camera and doing it yourself..

You are a little late. It's been a big hit up in the North East but starting to fade like the Disco ball.

Question.??? are you running a BBQ joint or a Penny Arcade?

        lets see
        $4 X10 =$40
        $4x100= $400
        $4x1000=$4000
$4x2000=$8000.............. Looks like you'd have to get 2,000 of your customers to take a silly picture of themselves from your machine just to break out even. We wont even think about machine maintenance and upkeep.
I like your other idea better where you beat the crap out of your customers with a base ball bat for not ordering food and using your restrooms. Which brings up another question, if a customer comes into your restaurant just to have his hilarious picture taken and your photo machine is not working would he/she still be allowed to use the restroom?
I hope you find some humor in my post. ...Frank

Why not save some time and effort and just put a $4 charge on use of your restrooms? Install a lock with a coin op or bill op mechanism on them and you're covered. That pretty much takes care of all of your issues.

            Interesting.

My wife and I used to go to the fair every year and take our picture but not a digital one...just those B/W strips with four shots on 'em. We have about six years' worth, from when we first started dating, through marriage, our first son, and the second. Kinda cool...we thought about getting one for our BBQ too, but the cost (for the new machines anyway) looked to be more than we wanted to put into it, at least for right now.

            Still thinking about it though.

Frank,I like all posts, some are REALLY very funny, some folks think they are really "getting" me,I laugh at these too.I stopped taking myself too seriously a long time ago.

As far as your math,I have about 2000-3000 customers a week we serve, including takeout.I believe I could get about 10% to partake, that's enough to justify the hassle, I believe,I just wanted to get some feedback.

              I net about $100.00 a month on a gumball machine,that's my 25%commission from a vending company!

AH, but the condom machine in the mens room is worth the admission price......

A better idea would be to install a coin operated toilet paper dispenser. Kind of a captive audience type thing.
