I was just listening to an the Simon & Garfunkel song "America":
"So we bought a pack of cigarettes, and Mrs. Wagner's Pie"
and I got to wondering if you can still buy them?(pies, not cigarettes)

Wow. So sad. I come from Brooklyn, so I do remember Mrs. Wagner's (now defunct) Pies!

The period around 1969 saw a tremendous shakeout of New York City specialty bakers. Mrs. Wagner's. Larsen's. Stuhmers. Kostners. Dugan's Queens Village. Nathan S. Levy and Sons. Silvercup. General Baking (Bond Bread). Ebinger's. Charmes.

YaY Dugan!!! I remember when they used to drive their trucks around Brooklyn and you could go on the truck and pick out your baked goods!
