Diet Dr. Pepper Berries and Cream

I was in Austin Texas with Bushie and I saw this drink available. I did not get one but in Knoxville, I just bought a twelve pack of Dr. Pepper Diet Berries and Cream. It was tasty but to tell the truth, I could not tell a whole lot of difference in the taste vs. the real Dr. Pepper. Your thoughts? Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I thought it was utterly foul. It tasted like cream soda hyped up with cough medicine. I think it was a terrible thing to do to Dr Pepper. They're practically giving it away in the stores. But the inventory seems to remain the same.

The only thing bad about this stuff is the "diet" part. Diet Dr Pepper in any form is foul. Real Dr Pepper is great!

In the diet Commercial they show some 'non-diet' also.I assume they make both. I will try the real thing, but I don't have high-hopes for this flavor. I like regular Dr Pepper (especially the stuff made with cane sugar).

Uh, I am sorry I spent it. Didnt taste at all like "regular" Dr Pepper, and the thought of berries and cream Dr.P absolutely turns my stomach.

I've pretty much given up drinking soda, but then enginecapt had to put up that link to the Dublin Dr. Pepper site and I got distracted. I had Mexican Coca-Cola while I was in California and loved it, and the DDP is tempting me ...

I agree with Pwingsx, it tastes like Robitussin! I splurged on a soda with sugar to try it, and it was muy icky! But the Italian sandwich from Mac's Deli in Kenosha that I had with it was really good. Just wish I had asked for extra sauce, then it would have been perfect. Quick drive through to get a Diet Coke to wash everything down, and I was right as rain.

I, too, didn't taste much of a difference between the reg. and the berries. It was basically just a sweeter version of the original.

I thought this thread was going to be about ACTUAL berries and cream because I got some wonderful cheap blackberries at Trader Joe's this weekend and had them with lots of whipping cream and a bit of sugar--wonderful and no Dr. Pepper involved.

Where do they come up with these flavors? Quiter frankly, I'm tired of going to the store and having to search for the "normal" flavors for all the junk stuff that's being marketed.
