Strange as it seems, his brother resides in Knoxville, TN. I have never met him though. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I used to watch Wall Street week with a passion in the 70's. I particularly enjoyed the last program of the year prior to New Years Day when all of his regular guests would appear in tuxedo and formal attire. That was when Louis would ask for their predictions for the coming year. I can recall being astounded when one of the guests dared to suggest the DOW would break the 1000 mark in the following year. Well after dropping about .....let's just say that all my children could have gone to Harvard, complete with post grad study; I finally kicked the habit and went back to my Ouija board to break even.

I was turned on to him later in his run on PBS, but still relatively early in my own investing life. I would have to say that he had more of an impact than anyone else on my steadfast refusal to stop contributions to my retirement account when I really otherwise needed the money. I am glad that I listened to you, Louis! You will be missed.

Hello All, I remember watching Louis when I was a teenager on PBS. He made economics fun and real to me. I came from a family that wasn't stupid, but my parents worked to survive. Their work allowed me to see people like Louis on t.v., and due to that, I am wiser because of their efforts and the works of Louis. In a strange way, he was an icon for me. I mourn his death. None can replace him. I had no money, but he was like an uncle, teaching me how to approach economical and social issues together. I watched him from PBS to CNBC. I miss his smile. Take Care, Fieldthistle

What's that got to do with food a Roadfooder would want to eat? Cheers, John

I do not know if Ruykeyser has anything to do with Roadfood but the Miscellaneous Forum is inserted to allow this type of post. I know nothing of this family but his brother lives in Knoxville? Whatever, but I am sure he does not enjoy the same food as my family. He does live across the river from me though. Perhaps he could email me some money or good Food? Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Cheers, John Suffice it to say that THIS Roadfooders drinks Diet Pepsi, likes White Cheedar Cheetos, uses McCormick spices A LOT, has been known to visit a KFC when desperate, once wrote in praise of the McDonald's $1 double cheesburger and is a chocaholic. If other Roadfooders choose a different route, fine for them. THIS Roadfooder can enjoy both more travel and more good food because of Lou Rukuyser and cares not a fig if others are disdainful.

Even I never blamed Lou Rukuyser for the abysmal junk scoffed up by the American booboisie... Cheers, John
