EJ's Place in Skokie

Any of you Chicago carnivores ever tried this place? I just got back from a beautiful, huge, crusty, juicy T-bone - among the best steaks I've ever had. Great atmosphere too - like somewhere you'd find in the backwoods, with elk's heads and a large fire place. Highly recommended!

I just searched for the website. I think it is where Great Godfrey Daniels was located. The owner is the grandson of Gene Michelotti of Gener and Georgetti's(sp). http://www.ejsplaceskokie.com

It's really too expensive to be considered Roadfood, but since I was taken there and didn't have to pay, I enjoyed it twice as much!

I just noticed that Chicago Magazine now lists EJ's in its restaurant reviews. It gives it one star, which is a notch below some other top Chicago steakhouses like Morton's and Chicago Chophouse. But its pretty complimentary. I have to get back there sometime.
