    3) port wine cheese spread

      I usually like my saltines plain, but when I'm in the mood, tuna salad (tuna, MAYO, lettuce, chilled), or crumbled up in tomato soup. I love love love Saltines, and if it weren't for cheez-its, they would be my favorite cracker.

        Remember Kent cigarettes with the "micronite filter" that passed the smoke "over, under, around, and through"? Well,
        • Over: Chili, canned soups, casseroles (as a topping);
        • Under: Sardines in mustard sauce, raw oysters with horseradish;
        • Around: Cheese, cheese spreads, slices of sopressata and other hard sausages;
        • Through: Milk: lightly buttered and toasted if milk is warm, plain if it's cold;
        and with just about any soft drink: the salt complements the sweet.

            Ahhhh, Shanghai Jimmy served oyster crackers w/ his chili rice. They go good with chili. I just put em on top. Clubs go good w/ lotsa stuff but not chili I think.

            Saltines crumbled on a broiled tamato works on top of the other stuff.

            I bought some Tony Chacherey's "more spice". I have not tried it yet.

              I like PB&J but my favorite is when you are waiting at a sea food place. Saltines with a spuge of cocktail sauce, if you are feeling decadant, put butter on first.

                Butter on saltines, sardines in oil on saltines,or saltines crumbled in tomato soup-that is all I use them for, except just plain eating.

                  How about Almond Butter! (Stop & Shop "Nature's Promise" oragnic)
                  Tastes like natural peanut butter. Other times, its tuna w/mayo. I prefer Manischewitz matzoh's, but we ran out last week and had Saltines left.
