Morty's Fried Chicken

Anyone remember Morty's? They had a handful of locations in the Baltimore area. All of the locations closed down in the 90's.
Morty's served up some of the most delicious fried chicken and ranch fries I have ever had. Golden brown, huge pieces, and just fantastic. Now, Morty's chicken can only be had at a place called Snyder's Cafe & Deli. I was there last fall, and though they call it Morty's chicken, it's just not the same. The chicken my wife and I had was dreadfully overcooked - what was once a wonderful golden crispy crust was dark brown - nearly black, and the meat was dry and tasteless. Damn I miss that good old Morty's chicken! Anyone else remember Morty's?
