Goat ice cream

I have never had it, or thought of it for that matter when I was asked about it the other day. I'm not a fan of goat milk, but maybe I have never had "good" goat milk. I have had goat, sheep, and water buffalo cheese, but the thought of goat ice cream does not turn me on.

Agreed, but goat milk ice cream does sound better than goat flavored ice cream. Sounds like one for Iron Chef Carribean.

Hello All, I'd try it, especially since I have a problem with cow's milk. By the way, congrulations Tmiles on your 1000 post. I enjoy your words. Take Care, Fieldthistle

I'm surprised this doesn't exist in healthfood stores... I've thought about this too to counteract the problems with cowmilk digestion... Maybe you should just see if you can get your hands on some goat cream and make a batch at home.

I think it sounds intriguing. All the sweeteners and flavoring might make it the same as other ice cream, but then again, it might have a neat tang all its own. Thank goodness I read the thread, because I also thought it was referring to goat-flavored ice cream.

There is actually ice cream prepared with goat's milk in Greece, where it is called "Dondourma". Have never tried it, but it sounds too good to pass up!!

I haven't seen goat milk ice cream. I drank goat's milk as a baby, so maybe I would like the ice cream.

Well yes it does exist - I had some today. Made by Tara's Organic Ice Cream in Santa Fe which features GOOD and unusual flavors (basil, sweet corn, green chile, garam massala, adzuki bean with black sesame, black truffle with caramelized pear, cardomon, molasses, chocolate, vanilla) http://tarasorganic.com/ Raspberry Goat Milk Ice Cream. It tasted pretty good - actually exactly what you would think if you imagined it: sort of like vanilla with pieces of raspberries in frozen goat milk.

I was searching around on roadfood.com for info on goat milk products. I am lactose intolerant and it is basically all I can digest without getting sick. I am new here to the forums and just posted on the ice cream discussion about Laloos Goat Milk Ice Cream. This seemed like a more appropriate place to tell y'all about this rediculiously great product. It has revolutionized my ice cream eating. I had kinda sorta sworn off ice cream becaus eit made me feel crappy. But now, I can eat all I want without a thought about the side effects. See here for my previous post: http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5059&whichpage=4
