I just passed a restaurant in NYC (it was closed) that had Tortilla Pizza on its menu. Now that sounds interesting! Has anyone every had tortilla pizza? Where? How was it made? Was it good?

In some Tex-Mex places they have something they call Mexican pizza. It's a tortilla with various toppings. I've never considered ordering it. Of course, I don't know whether it's the same thing as a tortilla pizza.

Hello All, NYNM, years ago we had a Mexican restaurant(Cuban owned) that had a Mexican Pizza. It was great! Spicy ground beef on a baked flour tortilla with many types of cheeses, mini-bits of onions and peppers. It was an appetizer. Taco Bell offers a Mexican pizza which is okay if I am starving. Please give it a try and let us know more about the one you try. Take Care, Fieldthistle

Tucson has a number of places that make" tortilla pizza", although it is really a cheese crisp. It is so much better there than elsewhere. My favorite was at Mi Nidito in South Tucson.

On the El Charro menu is the Mexican Pizza the same as the Tostado de Tucson (aka cheese crisp)? I asked the server for the mexican pizza and he said they don't make pizza.

Actually, if you use a good thick flour tortilla and a pizza stone, they come out OK. The trick is to cook at about 400-425, at this temp, it gives the bottom of the tortilla time to brown. It is kind of like a thin crust pizza.
