Hamburger Hamlet

I am a fan of Robert B. Parker's "Spenser" detective series. Everytime Spenser gets to the left coast one of his duties always seems to be to find a "Hamburger Hamlet". From what I understand they are for the most part in and around LA. I've never heard of them before and never seen one. Can anybody tell me about them?

It's a small chain here---------started out in the 50's or 60's as an upscale, sit-down burger place. They are known for burgers------but also made a reputation here for a great lobster bisque. menu also includes steaks and chicken wings etc. Supposed to have a good Sunday brunch too. I know of locations in West LA/Bev. Hills, Sherman Oaks and near Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. They are also supposed to have some back east too. Haven't been there lately but my daughter loves the place.
