That's easy. Either a #1 or a #3 wherever great, world class submarine sandwiches are constructed. The Bear

I absotively and posilutely agree! (Uh, with the original post). I can eliminate the lobster roll but only because they're not served around here; I know they're awesome but how can name as a favorite sandwich something I can't regularly have? I can also eliminate the cheesesteak since I don't know where to find a good one in Houston. Again, a great sandwich, though. Well, at least Stephen didn't also include the Reuben, Cuban and Panini. I'm withholding my vote in protest this week.

Yeah, This sure looks like a regional selection to me. Where's the Pulled Pork (or other BBQ Sandwich), or the Pork Tenderloin, or the B-U-R-G-E-R ? Grilled Cheese? BLT? and the list goes on.....

OK, But I will still hold onto the Grilled Cheese and the BLT and then add a whole bunch of what the others called the PB &J or Jam or Jelly or Honeybutter Combo's Or a Meatball-Sub. If I can "Stick-It" in a Biscuit, I can "Shove-it" into a Sub-Roll!

At this point in time I would have to vote for the lobster roll. But that's just because I just had my FIRST EVER on a recent trip to Maine. Now if my next adventure takes me to New Orleans or Philly, I'll have to change my vote.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Italian beef sandwich is the finest sandwich known to man. I have spoken.

But, as for second place, I'm with Mr. Mayor. A truly great meatball sub can bring me to my knees. The kind where the meatballs have been LONG-simmered in the sauce, to the point that they become a different animal than a regular meatball. Sausage also undergoes that strange and wonderful alchemic change when simmered long enough. Not all places have the wisdom or the patience to do this, however...

To me, a good open faced hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatos and gravy is always my first choice. A good one is hard to find but well worth the effort.

I don't think I've ever been to K & Z; there used to be a Guggenheim's along there that I went to but it looks like that's gone. I haven't had much reason to be in that part of town for years; I'll have to overcome my reluctance to get into the traffic in the Magic Cirle are and check it out. Thanks.
