Hav-a-chips? Hava chips? Please help!

They're made in Orange County, CA (Laguna Beach, I think), and they're delicious...thin and crisp, with a little bit of soy sauce or something on them. Can anyone tell me the correct spelling, or maybe even where to order them on-line? I've tried searching using a bunch of spelling variations, and found mentions of them but no links to the company or a place where I can order them yet. I've had a powerful craving for them for years now...I don't think anyone carries them outside of the SoCal area.

I think they're called halvah. Try googling that. I haven't had them though.

Halvah is a super sweet, very dense middle eastern dessert usually made from sesame seeds or tahini, sometimes marbled with or covered with chocolate. I don't think that's what Pheno was referring to. Of course now I have to stop at Kalustyan's Middle Eastern Spice Shop on the way home for some marble halvah!

You're right--they're not chips. And now that you describe it, I have had them when I said I didn't (that's two wrongs that don't make a right). An Israeli friend brought some back from Israel for us. They were very dense and super sweet.

These are tortilla chips, but not just any tortilla chips...like manna from heaven, they are. Halvah is good too, but very different.

Best I can do is to pick up a bag next time I'm in South Orange County and get the info off it for you. They're sold all over the place down there. I'm in the area about 5 times a year, with my next visits coming in Nov and Dec. They're my all time favorite tortilla chip.

Have'a corn chips http://www.naturalgrocers.com/039675777771.html You can buy them from that site or there is a picture of the back label of the bag with info to contact the company directly. I have been able to find them here in WA at natural foods stores.

I found this forum by searching for Have'a Chips. Looks cool. Anyhow, I found out a couple of months ago that you can order them by the box (24 bags) from Amazon. Very dangerous info for a Hav'a Chip fanatic.
