Philly Cheesteak in Minnesota

i tried on the where to eat thread but got no response. Anybody have any suggestions for a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich (even something close to authentic)? Your help is appreciated.

I've been in Minnesota almost my entire life and have yet to see one. I believe they have a cheese steak place at The Mall of America, it's a chain though so I'm assuming it's not great. There is a restaurant in Austin, MN called The Old Mill that has a very good sandwich they call a Horseyphilly, it is thin sliced beef (I think it’s the left over prime rib) on french bread with cheese, green peppers, horseradish is optional. I enjoy it, although I’ve never been to Philly.

FYI - They only serve that during lunch hours.

Try the Lyon's Pub on 6th Street downtown between Hennepin and Nicollet Mall.

I'm in the Twin Cities and there's a new place in Sunray Mall called Phillydawgs. They claim to have real Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. I have NOT eaten there. They do have Vienna Beef hot dogs. Sunray Mall is located off Hwy 94 in St. Paul heading toward Hudson, WI between McKnight Ave. and White Bear Ave. on the north side of the freeway. If you try them please post and let us know how they are.
