Doe's Eat Place/Greenville MS Fri, 12/1/06 1:56 PM (permalink)
I was doing a little reseach for an upcoming trip to Mississippi when I came across this interview with the owner of Doe's. For anyone who hasn't eaten at a Doe's (I have only eaten at the one in Little Rock), they have fantastic steaks and tamales in about as rustic a setting as can be imagined. The interview goes into much detail about the origins of the restaurant and I found it quite interesting. I know I had always wondered about the unusual name.

There also links on the page to similar interviews with the owners of a couple of other Roadfood gems in Mississippi, Abe's BBQ in Clarksdale and The White Front Cafe in Rosedale.
