Sauce for Bread Pudding

I want to make bread pudding for Christmas and offer a choice of two different sauces. I've got the butter-whisky sauce covered, but would ask if anyone has a recipe for a homemade vanilla or lemon sauce you could please post?

I read that some chefs take Haagazen or any other premium vanilla ice cream, melt it and use that as vanilla custard sauce or creme inglase, makes sense to me and very easy too.! Luisa

I make a cornstarch lemon sauce the same way, I like lemon sauce best for bread pudding.
