I regularly shop four different Pick'n'Saves in the Milwaukee area that have bakery ovens. I've noticed enough variety in the store's baked goods to support the idea the folks there are the ones creating the behind-the-counter items like the donuts. In fact, the somewhat eccentric shapes I've sometimes found supports the handmade nature of the goodies. My fave donuts and pockets are at the Pick'n'Save on National near 16th. Okay, the muffins look like they're made somewhere else. And I resent they made them appear a little wider but in fact cut their height in half.

David, all the donuts are frozen pre-made dough.I worked there for years. They are freshly fried and frosted, glazed, etc..., but no one at any Pick and Save makes anything handmade. Actually, the muffins ARE made there, from a mix with additional fresh items, such as fruit, chocolate chips, etc..added. But again, my point is items are freshly baked, just not made by hand as we once knew.
