Burgers Again?

Burgers Again? Wed, 12/20/06 2:13 PM (permalink)

Mix up some Choice Ground Chuck, chopped onions, your favorite BBQ sauce, and some S&P. Form a couple of burgers.

Melt a little bacon grease in a skillet and add the burgers.

I whipped up a cucumber, tomato, red onion, and olive salad. Dressing is Mayonnaise and white vinegar blended together.

Getting there, pull these out and add a little water to the drippings.

Smother that burger and dig in.

They do look good right out of the pan.

Wed, 12/20/06 9:33 PM (permalink) Anyone make their own chopped meat -- not ground, but go to work on a chunk of chuck with a cutting board and knife in each hand and make your own minced meat. A bit of work, but the texture of the burger is a lot more interesting.

John, another option is to slice your green olives. Do up the burger as you did above, when cooked slap a couple slices of bacon (cooked), the sliced olives and a slice or 2 of swiss cheese on top. Splash a little water next to the burger and cover with a lid. The melted cheese will hold the olives / bacon to the burger. Still sort of messy, but a good messy!
Also, GFS Marketplace stores (if you have one in your area) have 1/2 gallon jars of Stuffed Manzanillo Olives for $6.99... Thru the 1st of the year. (Aprox. 415 olives according to their ad).

John, when I check in on the 26th of Jan, I expect that exact dish to be waiting for me on the reservations counter, hot and steaming too!! You Rock!!

Hi Rich,

See you when you get here. IIRC you're only able to stay one night so I do not think you want a burger for dinner.
