Breakfast in Waikiki Fri, 03/14/03 11:45 AM (permalink)
Several years ago we had breakfast at an awesome restaurant located in central Waikiki - "Eggs n' Things". Weird name -- but the food was fantastic. Last fall when we went back, I couldn't wait to go there, but found out it had burned down. It supposedly has been rebuilt and is now open. We had things like Mahi Mahi omelets, Sour Cherry and Mac Nut crepes...Can't eat there everyday or you'd gain a ton of weight, but the place is definitely worth going to for breakfast. If I remember right, the hours are different -- like open all night and closing around noon. Check it out!!!

We just got back from Waikiki. Yes, Eggs N Things is open again and just as busy as ever. My wife can't stay away from the chocolate chip pancakes. A Spam omelette for me, please. Believe they're open from 10 pm to 2 pm.

I remember a few Eggs n Things in Phoenix AZ. Could this be a chain?

Try McDonalds for Portuguese Sausage, Eggs & Rice... a local favorite on their menu... pretty good for a fast cheap meal.

I remember going to a breakfast place back in the late '70's, called "Perry's Smorgy" - is it still there? I think they had 3 or 4 locations.

There was a Perry's in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego back in the 70's. It was not just breakfast, though. Didn't know it was an interstate chain. Thought ours was the only one. Gone (since early 80's, I think).

Actually, my memory has played tricks on me - Perry's in Hawaii was definitely open for lunch and dinner also, but we only went there for breakfast. We were on our honeymoon, money was tight, and they were "reasonable" for breakfast.

There is a Perry's Cafe just on the fringe of Old Town San Diego and also one in East County. They are a Diner/coffee shop type of restaurant and serve Great breakfasts
