Favorite Fish Sandwich

Now that Lent is here seems like every fast food outlet digs out a fish sandwich (Arby's, Wendy's, Etc) to keep their friday sales up. Whats the consensus for your favorite fish on a bun and what do you like on it? Mine is the B-K "Whaler" and I usually ask the confused counter person to add pickles & a little onion as I enjoy treat that I remember it costing 49 cents in my H.S. days when I could easily polish off 2 at a meal. Also loved the Burger Chef "Skipper's Treat" which had the best tarter sauce (same sauce they put on their signature triple-decker "Big Shef"

I enjoy a Breaded Perch Sandwich from the Forest Hills Inn.. Not sure if they're serving them this year, but in the past they've done a good job keeping up with Lent.

The Burger King fish sandwich isn't bad. When I get one I always order the spicy version. But the absolute best fish sandwich I have ever had is the haddock sandwich at Flanders Fish Market in Connecticut. It is huge, perfectly cooked, presented on a great bun, and it is absolutely delicious

The Crow's Nest at the end of W.8th st. on the west side (the best side) of Cincinnati. There's also a place in Florence Ky called Shakey's Pub & Grub on Rt.42 about a mile east of I-75 in the same lot as Skyline. He does everything very well. Great guy! Nice place!

A battered or breaded pan fried or deep fried walleye sandwich on a hoagie is my choice. There are so many good places around my home I can't lose.

I visit a spot in Ipswich often and they have a fried clam roll that is outstanding. When I go to Fla. for winter golf and the horse track I enjoy a fried grouper sandwich. Someday I would like to get to the mid west and try the pearch or walleye sandwich that many rave about. Chow Jim

Thanx for reminding me about the crow's nest, I have been looking for a good fish sammie. I have been to Rohrer's Tavern the last 2 weeks, I am a little disappointed in their fish sammie this year. PS: a Shakey burger...... is Easter almost here!!!!!

After I finish my "Whaler" I will get a "Yumbo" I like to add tomato to the BK fish but was aghast that they charged 10 cents. What ever happened to "... let us serve it your way...." Kevin

The places that serve the hot fish in Nashville are my favorite. You can see one of the sandwiches that the Mayor poster on the pics of the Nashville food thing. Tasty, huge and nice and hot. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN
