Remember this candy, the ad said it was "too good for kids?"
Is it still around? They were little cups made of caramel, filled with a cashew (or some similar nut--not a peanut) and nogat and covered with a little chocolate. They were really good.

Toffifay, it's too good for kids,
Toffifay is made for grown-ups!
It's still available in the Boston area. And I believe the nut inside is a hazelnut, no? But you're right, it's definitely not a peanut, and I don't think its a cashew.

Toffifay is definitely still around.
It's made by Storck, which also makes Reisen (a chocolate covered caramel) and Mambas (a fruit chew).
I love the commercials that used to show "how they're made" where a big drop of caramel saw spin into a little disk, then formed into a cup - they dropped a whole hazelnut into it, filled with a hazelnut creme (nougat as they call it) and then a drop of dark chocolate goes on top.
Even though the campaign when I was a child was that it was too good for kids, I used to buy the big trays.

Oh, Toffifay...I remember many years ago going for a job interview at an ad agency on Madison Avenue. The interviewer offered me a sample from their brand new client's product: Toffifay. Yummy. Guess their ad campaign was a winner....

Love Toffifay, still available in the Tops supermarket chain in NYS. Now if someone had a line on some Mambas, I haven't seen those in almost 20 years.

Love it but it had better be fresh. Christmas time is your best bet. Otherwise, it will pull out all of your old fillings!
