Anyone run across or remember these? Fri, 03/23/07 1:03 PM (permalink)

While others had stamp collections; I had a nice colorful Flowers cake label collection. (From over 20 years ago). Flowers' main brand back then was BeeBo, and they were also distributed in many places under the other labels. So seeing there was no Flowers article on wikipedia; I created one, and figured it would be a good place to show my collection.

I found it so interesting how one company could have so many names. I first heard of it when I went down to college in the south, yet many of the cakes (banana flip, raspberry luncheon roll) were very familiar, from the bodegas of NYC; only they had these other brand names. (Two of the labels, Aunt Hannah and Mountain Farm, could also be found in NY on some of the products, where the local distributors had not printed their own Lady Linda or Betty Jane sticker for them.

Today, Flowers seems to be down to just "Blue Bird" for its own operation, and Mrs Freshley for other distributors and venors.
