I would like to know if The Sterns could tell me where they will be having their symposium in Ann Arbor MI next weekend. Also a time would help alot. I have tried everywhere to find out info. I had read that was going to be at the Ann Arbor Library but their site does not tell me anything. Thanks alot!

It will be at the William Clements Library, 909 S. University Ave., in Rakham Amphitheater, 4th floor (743-764-2347) on May 19 at 1:30. It's part of a Symposium on American Culinary History and, looking at the brochure, I am wondering if you have to sign up for the whole 2-day event to come to any one part of it. I'll try to check.

To the Sterns and everyone else fortunate to attend this event.......please tell Jan Longone that I and my uncle Sam Grey send great HELLOS! I just received my publication from her, Quarterly Publication of the Culinary Historians of Ann Arbor. Foods of the American Heartland. Jan is a gem. Enjoy the symposium!

And let me chime in, only because the first culinary experience I can ever recall was at The Rubiyat in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This was circa the early 1960s, when I was a real youngster. I had Frogs Legs. Somewhere in my accumulation of boxes, I have the actual menu from that dinner. Charles Las Vegas, NV
