There is also a video of Michael going to Louis Lunch in New Haven. If I can find it, I will add it here.

quote: Damn! I've never been a fan of the hamburgers at Louis Lunch -- the steak sandwiches were what I always ordered -- but that video has even me drooling for one of those hamburgers with onions. And it's getting on toward the time of year for the front windows to be open.

I assume the video was "sanctioned" by Roadfood, but I don't know. http://www.billkirchenbauer.com/ I emailed him to ask about Tommy's. He responded that it's on Hwy 71, east of La Grange. He reiterated that it's just about the best BBQ he's ever had. I'll try to make it over there in the next few weeks.

My cousin and I visited Tommy's this past Saturday. My camera has died, so I couldn't take pictures, but it was worth the drive from Round Rock. Mr. Kirchenbauer was right about the size of the sandwich. We both got pork sandwiches (sliced pork roast with pickles, onion, and sauce on white bread), and they were so heavy I wished I had continued my weight training. They were DELICIOUS. An update on the location; it's just WEST of La Grange. Traveling east, it's on the left right before the exit for Business 71 (where you would exit to get Weikel's kolaches ).

I've seen this guy either here or Indianapolis once.

(before I even read any of this thread!) My 8 year old nephew and I each took turns picking a youtube video to watch. He picked mostly scary movie stuff like "final destination 1,2, and 3 death scenes", etc... plus the hot video/song "flea market montgomery". Then my turn came.........I stuck the keyword "roadfood" in there, and the Louis Lunch popped up with Jane and Michael. I wish they showed a closer up view of the burger, though
