We will be traveling to Harbor Island, Sc next month, and am looking for great seafood in the Beaufort area. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks, John

The best in Beaufort is Saltus! The littlnecks with leeks and the crab bisque are to die for. The Chemical free jumbo Scallops and the local black grouper round out the entree's. ** don't pass up on the raw bar. East and West coast oysters (Blue points, cookes cove, Kumomoto's, Pickle point)

It's cheap and greasy and off the beaten path (on the road to Hunting Island), but the Shrimp Shack (I think it's on the main list here) is pretty good.

I think the crab cakes are better at Blackstone's cafe--they do them for Sunday brunch in a Benedict.
