Located on 17-92, it is a real dive but dive into the best oysters anywhere on earth! Get 'em by the bucket while they last. Absolutely the sweetest taste you'll find anywhere!

      He has to be Trolling.

The oysters can't be better than Apalachicola oysters or the ones from Horseshoe Bay. And, We don't have to drive to Tampa to get'um.

Not trolling at all. The oysters here are from all over FL including Appalachicola. This is not a troll post. Gary's is well known and is known for it's oysters especially. The bucket was $12.95. We never would have known about it except that some close friends took us there and we return whenever we drive through there. Not trolling at all just making another great roadfood place known about. If you're able to go it's worth a drive, it's excellent.

Reagan's Oyster Pub - St Joe Beach, Florida

$12.00 a bucket, and they are straight from appalachicola.

You drive in and the whole parking lot is covered in crushed oyster shells.

Being in the restaurant business (Florida) it's interesting to learn new and exciting things about the food business that helps everyone, this forum is a great example. Several days ago I was talking with a purveyor, who is famous for being able to obtain exotic food from all over the world, about an event we had up coming where the host had asked for some sort of oyster/shrimp station. My friend/purveyor of some eight years sent me a one and one-half page list of oysters from literally all over the world that varied in price from $1 each to $3 each delivered to my door. After looking over the list for a day or so I went back to my friend for more advice. I asked him his opinion of an oyster that has a far better (different) taste profile to enjoy a larger dollar expenditure than the Appalachicola product that we all enjoy. After several minutes of silence, he stated the The Appalachicola Oyster is his biggest shipper period, in the exotic oyster business, and he is four states north of us!

I am not suprised that the Appalachicola oyster is the biggest shipper. There are a lot of them to ship. I have had some good Appalachicolas in my life and enjoyed them. But I am not sure they are the best tasters. However oysters are like Hot Dogs, everyone has their favorites. I would not tell my favorite as they are not as plentiful as the Appalachicola .

Then I'm not telling mine either, lest you all rush out and gobble them up.
