Is this a new forum or have I not been paying attention? Regardless, I like the idea very much! Ole Rouxdog

Yep, Dean, this is now the place for those journals describing trips and tours. Hopefully it will be easier to find visual and written records of areas with some 'up to date' data that a member might like to check out. I am going to move my earlier trip reports to this new forum for that reason.

Al- Thanks! I am in Utah, Wyoming and Montana for the week, so I should be able to write a real nice report when I get back.

I think the new Forum for Trip Reports is working out very well. WJ's latest Baseball Trip is a good case in point. Very well done report , and easy to find because of the new forum.

Great addition to this already awesome site! Makes it much easier to identify the threads that are put together after a trip as opposed to questions on preparing for a trip. Thanks!

Gregg I had trouble finding the trip report in the hodgepodge of sausage comments on that thread. Is there any way you can 'reconstruct' a new thread using that trip..in the format you see the other trip reports. We won't delete the old one, just narrow the focus of the report to the actual trip! Be sure to include geographic locations for folks not familiar with the places you are visiting and the dates to help establish the "time-stamp" for the trip

I would like to suggest that the Title of a Trip Report contain the Geographic Location or Area covered in the report and an aproximate date..at least the year and preferably the month or season (Spring 2006 or August 2003) to help those looking for information to scan the titles in the forum to select those of value for their search. Example... Last year we went west to the Utah National Parks. I labeled my trip report "The Mayor Goes west, 2006" When I moved it to the new forum I changed the title to Trip Report Spring 2006, AZ,UT & CO National Parks.(or close to that). I think that will aid a searcher to find (or skip) the report when they come looking for help. This is just a suggestion...not a policy !!!!

I love this new feature! Nothing better then sitting back at your desk and watching other Roadfooders ventures, wishing you where there...

I know this encourages me to write more trip reports. And I have a lot of them planned this summer! And if I figure out how to enter photos into them, I plan on going back and entering them in the old reports.
