Tomato-based salad dressing

I'm looking for recipes for a slightly sweet, tomatoey-based salad dressing. I had this years ago on a mixed greens salad with fresh ricotta at the now-defunct George's Spaghetti House in Toronto.
It tasted like a cleaner version of Kraft Casino/Catalina, as I recall, and I can't find anything similar in the online recipe databases.
This dressing was definitely not the tomato soup plus oil and vinegar item I keep turning up.
I've got some really fresh ricotta and I'm yearning to make this dressing.
Can anyone offer any help?
