Powell's sweet shoppe

It looks like a chain, but it has an amazing array of old hard-to-find candies including fizzies, those wierd halloween candies you always got, and imported chocolates. Not a spam, just a happy customer of the Los Gatos, CA Powell's -Chris

It's a rather new franchise, started by a guy actually named Powell. I visited the original store in Windsor, CA last summer and found it quite fun. They had a huge selection not only of classic, retro and weird items but also some nice imported candies and high-end chocolate bars. Prices are a little higher than you can expect at grocers, but it's certainly nice to find everything in one place. Photos here: http://www.typetive.com/candyblog/item/candy_source_powells_sweet_shoppe I stumbled across a second location in Healdsburg. Here's a list I got from the company of all their locations: Windsor, CA Healdsburg, CA Los Gatos, CA Novato, CA Boulder, CO Boise, ID Petaluma, CA Upcoming stores: Chico, CA Walnut Creek, CA Pleasanton, CA La Jolla, CA Willow Glen (San Jose), CA I got my last bunch of Reed's Cinnamon, Root Beer and Butterscotch hard candies last year (very sad that they discontinued those).
