Day Trip to KY

A friend and I took a day trip to from Cincinnati to Augusta, Washington and Maysville KY.

We took the scenic byway, Rt. 52, along the river to the ferry from OH to Augusta, KY.

We went across the bridge in Maysville, back to Ripley, OH. We went to a bar called Snapper's, and asked about food. The owner informed us that we could order from any restaurant in town, and the bartender would go and pick it up for us. So we enjoyed libations on the outside patio, on the river, and ordered dinner from Cohearts, a nice restaurant in town. What a perk!!

Very enjoyable day. My friend called it a "lazy river day".

Looks like you had a very nice trip and great pics. Paducah, KY has similar murals on their river front.

I had photos from Ripley, but it rained so hard while we were there, you couldn't see much.

I am taking a day trip to Richmond and Centerville, Indiana on Tuesday {9/4}, so I will be posting again next week.

We haven't made that drive in years. Your pictures bring back many fond memories. Good to know the Beehive is still a good place to eat.

The picturesque riverfront area of Augusta, by the way, was used in the TV miniseries "James Michener's Centennial" years ago.
