Let me preface by saying, this did not end up to be a roadfood trip. I always look out for roadfood, but I was only able to have one meal. But we saw lots of interesting sites.

Richmond is the "birthplace of recorded jazz". There are some murals in town to embrace it's history. Unfortunately, I only got a pic of one.

This is from the website:

http://www.waynet.org/nonprofit/jazz_murals.htm

Here is my pic:

One of the best Welcome Centers I have ever seen:

We had lunch at Chuck's Sports Bar at 15th and E Sts.:

I had a ham, turkey, roasted red pepper, cream and Asiago cheeses with garlic, panini with homemade chips. My friend had a burger and fries. The burger was okay. The sandwich was great!

Cute Bengals/Colts scarecrows outside if Chuck's:

Then on to the Wayne Co. Historical Museum. This museum is a bunch of stuff a woman left to the county when she died. There are Egyptian artifacts, boy scout and fiefighter memorabilia, among all kinds of "stuff". I didn't take any pictures inside, but they have an outdoor reconstruction of old-time Richmond.

Next post~On to Centerville.

Next, we went to the Rose Garden in Glen Miller Park. Although it is peak season for roses to bloom {June & Sept. in central Indiana}, the dry conditions must have had an effect. It wasn't worth showing any of those pictures.

Centerville is a little antique shopping/architecture touring town.

We stopped at the Blue Monkey Bar & Grill for a couple of drinks and bar snacks. The Victorian back bar was made for the 1893 World's Fair.

The Salisbury Courthouse was moved here:

Centerville Farmer's Market. I got fresh sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, and some peach-vidalia hot sauce, vidalia onion mustard, among other good stuff.

On Interstate 70 in Centerville is the Warm Glow Factory Outlet { http://www.warmglow.com/outlet/index.html }:

As we walked toward the store, we saw some old cars outside:

And realized we had walked into a function going on at the Model T Museum. Usually, they close earlier than we were there, but they invited us in to look around.

AND, last but not least, RoadFoodish, a car where you could cook on it's manifold {with a cookbook}~

      They are having a festival celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Model T {July 21-26, 2008}, for anyone interested. { http://www.mtfca.com/ }

I wish we would have found more RoadFoodie places, but, when you are doing a day trip, there is just not enough time in a day!!
