Boston Pizza Mon, 10/29/07 4:41 PM (permalink)
Hi,
A local pizza place closed here a month ago..and now a sign has been posted, BOSTON PIZZA coming soon. I'm told it's a chain, but one I never heard of. Anyone have info on this place? What do they serve and how good...Hmmmmm...just what we need another pizza chain!!

Chains can vary due to different owners. Given the price of pizza, I would just check it out when it opens. Also, looks like Boston Pizza is straight from Canada. For that reason alone, you have to go to find out why would they call it Boston Pizza?

No doubt they will soon get a cease-and-desist letter from the Boston Beer Company.

Do all Canadians think that Boston is the peak of pizza perfection? Perhaps. But why?

I was in a Boston Pizza in Kelowna, B.C. about a month ago. Exactly what you would expect from a chain pizza place. I finished a few slices and decided it was enough. Fairly bland everything. I guess I should have figured I was in for a rough ride when the iced tea came without any ice in it. The waitress seemed perplexed when I mentioned it to her and asked for a glass of ice.

European waitress maybe????? They don't put ice in drinks in Europe, incl the UK, unless you order it that way. And then they nod and go "Oh of course you're American..."

Off topic, but that sounds about right. I remember the horror of a German tourist at a Burger King in Manhattan when his 7-year old drank Coke served to him. He ran it to the garbage can and started scooping all the ice out, telling the kid it was too cold and that it would make him sick!

Of course, I might not be too keen on warm beer, myself.

There's cold beer in eastern Europe. I wonder where the ice divide is?

I especially liked going to their "pizza" website and seeing their "Chocolate Explosion" cake featured on it.

Pizzeria Regina is Boston Pizza. Almost all the others are inferior.

I need to try one at Santarpio's in East Boston.

Upon viewing the menu,I decided this place wouldnt interest me.Pretty much same old thing.Unless they have a really good signature dish,it is highly unlikely I would bother.
