Fruit-flavor stick candy?

My brother was racking his brain trying to recall assorted fruit flavor candy sticks, sold in a bunch, smaller than standard candy canes, and less solid, easier to break up. Ring a bell to anyone? He thinks a large concern like Russell Stover made them. Like thirty or more years ago.

I have found them in specialty stores and in malls where they have old fashioned candy stores.

I've seen candy-cane size/consistency sticks in old-time candy stores in apothecary jars, where they still have horehound as a flavor, but that's definitely not it. My brother said the density was close to those puffy mint balls - I sure don't remember them though, and I was all about the candy back then...

I don't know about soft ones, but Cracker Barrel carries the hard candy sticks in all different flavors... they look like the straight part of a candy cane.

They were called Russell Stover Straws and are no longer made.
