mothers fried pies

My daddy used to bring me "mothers fried pies" from a vending machine at work in the late 70s.They were dark fried,had no icing,and were larger than a hostess pie.I remember pineapple was one of the flavors.The pie came in a semi-transparent package with red striping and lettering,I think.Anyone remember these pies or know if they still exist?
