Site slow?

Is anyone else experiencing long page access times here at Roadfood?

My system seems to be running fine. Access times are quick.

I have noticed it. Perhaps it is related to the banner ads that are running?/ I notified Stephen. I do not think all are experincing the same issue. I cannot explain it but my system has been slow and I have high speed. I hzve not experienced the same thing when I accessed other web sites. ?? Go figure.

It was extremely slow to load for about 2 hours prior to my opening post. Naturally, within 15 minutes of making that post everything was back to normal.

'Ads by Glam' is what slows it down here and there... (Advertiser that don't have the server power to support the requests).

I haven't noticed any slowness. There are so many factors that can make a difference to individuals such as your server and traffic, their server and traffic, etc.

If you don't have software to block banner ads, then you should! In addition to some free software that is available, I recommend Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite. It includes the afore-mentioned ad blocker, plus anti-virus, anti-spy ware, and anti IM protection.

It is very user-friendly, and can be bought at Office Depot for ~$50. By comparison, the popular McAfee and Norton Internet Security Suites include less and cost about $20. more. Also Consumer Reports rates Zone Alarm as superior to those 2 popular, better-known packages. Get Zone Alarm and your pages will load very quickly--especially if you have a high-speed connection.

This happens to me when the Starbucks add loads, gotta wait untill the person on one chair lift passes a cup of overpriced coffee to someone else going in another direction. I thought those ski lifts were one way only, ride to the top and swoosh down.
But I found if I hit the refresh on my computor it loads right away. No more waiting for the hand off. Chow Jim

I experienced long pages when the ad server was feeding those vertical banners.

I've noticed that unless you doubleclick "Post Reply" it takes forever to process. Maybe it is just me, here, with the particular browser (Firefox).
