I grew up loving Bonomo's turkish taffe. For years now we've heard rumors about it coming back...Oh I know French chew is supposed to be similar...but I miss the real thing...Does anyone have ant information. Also...you Bonomo's lovers..what was your favorite flavor...I loved chocolate and banana...and sometimees ate a piece of each at the same time...nice flavor! leethebard

The brand is now owned by Tootsie Roll, and they are not making it anymore.

Besides the turkish taffy, Bonomo made a cherry and lemon drop( I think movie theaters only) to die for.

When I google Bonomo Turkish Taffy, all that comes up is French Chew Taffy which is "supposedly" just like it.Guess we will have to try it!

I just received a small bag of BONOMO'S Turkish Taffy twists that I bought on eBay as a donation to the Canines for Kids charity. They're were four flavors in the bag. Original vanilla, strawberry, chocolate and, banana. They taste exactly as I remember them years ago as a kid living in Brooklyn. There was a note in the box that they would be going into production soon. bonomoturkishtaffy@gmail.com

Further to my above post, the eBay item number is: 180406505194 The bags are small (20 pieces) and, they cost $20.00 plus $2.99 shipping. I realize that's kind of pricey but, it is for a bona fide charity. The seller is "Sharonsluckytreasures" (33) 100% positive feedback. There is also a note in the box saying, if you write to the above email address with your opinion on how they taste, they'll send you a free bar of taffy from the first production. NOTE: These are NOT French Chew. They are genuine Bonomo's. Made using the original recipe. I went through 12 of the pieces in an hour. They're terrific! Especially the chocolate.

I always wondered what happened to Bonomo's- my favorite was the vanilla- and I guess since Tootsie bought them out, that could explain the similarity in taste of the vanilla tootsies to the vanilla taffy(?)......any word on how close they are to production? Hope they are available everywhere- I really hate it when something like that is only available in some little obscure place miles and miles from civilization.......but on line would work, I guess.

The wrapping is perfect. Great to see the logo sitting in a bag on my desk. I found the strawberry too sweet, but I don't think I ever liked it. The chocolate is purrrrfect! Nothing like a Tootsie Roll which I also happen to like.

Although vanilla is my favorite, the chocolate is very good. And Mar52 is right about the strawberry. Too sweet. The banana flavor is disappointing.
