I saw that Mister Hoffman. :)

And I thought I was the only one who did that at Chick-Fil-A

That's how I have mine, but with extra pickle and Buffalo sauce - the condiment you have to ask for, it's not out with the rest. I use about half of the pack, and drizzle the remainder on the waffle fries.

Because my (ex)wife from Memphis told me so.... It was one of the few things she did know better than me. I love slaw on my sandwich and the weird stares from the unititiated is fine with me.

Until I left W TN (FYI, Bobs, eating, working, and/or living in Memphis, Ripley, Brownsville, Mason, Covington, Union City) I didn't know 'cue was ever served without slaw. And, for that matter, the best burgers I ran across (at Peavey's Hut in UC) were also served with slaw.

I've seen pulled pork sandwiches with and without slaw. I grew up not knowing about slaw on sandwiches, but a buddy of mine took me to a place in Central MA run by a friend of his from NC and he put slaw on his sandwiches. I wads a little leery at first, but I'm usually up for something new. It was amazing. The contrast between the smoky pork, sweet and spicy sauce, and the cool and tangy slaw was fantastic. Been hooked ever since.

IMHO it all depends on the quality of the slaw. I slice mine real, real thin almost stringlike. I do like it on pulled pork.
But what I really like is the pulled pork & scrambled eggs the next day.

Me too Nancy, I always put slaw on my Chick-Fil-A sandwhich and their slaw is one of my favorites.

He in Huntsville, AL, most of the slaw you get at barbeque joints (Gibson's, Greenbrier's, etc.) is a vinegar based slaw w/no mayo which makes it great tasting on a que sandwich.

Do you scramble your eggs with the BBQ and serve it on a plate or make a BBQ sandwich with eggs replacing the slaw?

When I take the pork off the smoker I pull it and keep it dry, until it is time to serve & even then I only put a little on just to coat the pork. I leave it up to my guests to add as much as they want.
So when I use it in scrambled eggs the next day, the pork only has a little sauce on it. I put a little American cheese on it & some tabasco...throw it in a roll & chow down.

No little heart next to it on the menu...but it's good.

                      Hillbilly,
Every place I went to around Lexington, a BBQ tray came with fries also. I've never understood eating fries with BBQ (frankly, I don't care much for fries, period), but slaw with Q -- that's a plumb natural.
If I remember right, my favorite slaw-and-Q place I tried in Lexington was The Barbecue Center... I went to seven places there in two days; there are 16 or so more awaiting my discovery.

                        Hillbilly,
Nothing, but ketchup doesn't taste quite right on a livermush sandwich. Livermush and green slaw, though, is mighty tasty.

                          P. S. The combination I would like to try is a Kosher dog with vinegary red slaw and beanless chili on it. I bet that would be yumsville.

That's easy enough... just order you some slaw on the side and updump... I do it all the time (of course, I usually use a spoon or a fork!).

Well, you wade through the Wiregrass, for starters.
Me, if I were in Dothan, I'd drive all the way around the circle clockwise, then get off once I'd totally circuited it and drive back counter-clockwise, all time mumbling tongue-in-chic'ly to myself "Don't this sum**** ever end?" -- It's a lot easier to try that there than to do it using I-285 in Atlanta.
Seemingly Always Going 'Round In Cyrkles, Ort. Carlton in Athens.
                                P. S. Any good 'cue places to report in your area? Did the brewpub there close or has it repoened? My old friend Wayne Wombles used to be the brewer there when it was in a steak house. He's in North Carolina now.
                                P. P. S. The Cyrkle performed "Red Rubber Ball," which you've probably heard as an oldie. Somehow I have managed to obtain decent copies of both of their LPs on vinyl (in mono) for 50 cents a pop... hence the reference.

At Honey Monk's place (Lexington # 1), the "plate" comes with fries, but the "tray" is just 'cue, red slaw (made using the "dip" or sauce instead of mayonaise) and puppies. I usually wash it down with either sweet tea or Cheerwine and follow it up with a dish of cobbler topped by ice cream.

At our ONLY locally owned "Q" place you have to request your sandwich without it, which I do.

                                        Hillbilly,
Nothing, but ketchup doesn't taste quite right on a livermush sandwich. Livermush and green slaw, though, is mighty tasty.

You're right about that. I like my livermush sandwich with slaw, onions and mustard. Just had one yesterday at "Glenn's" in Wilkesboro. Livermush is on the menu at most any of the restaurants in these parts. (Glenn serves "Jenkins")

Just had it for lunch today here in TX at a new place called Prince Bistro (that looked like a chain). It was call "Arkansas style pulled pork sandwich."
