"Iron" Sandwiches

Greetings, Roadfooders!

I'm working on a column about "iron" sandwiches, as in cheese sandwiches cooked with an iron, the kind you'd iron a shirt with. This is one of those cases where the memory is better than the food itself, but I recall as a child my mother making these. She'd assemble the sandwich, wrap it in foil, and then place the hot iron on top. Does anyone else remember this? For attribution purposes, please give me your real name and where you live.
