Are you looking for edibile peppers (i.e dried, fresh, hot sauce etc) or are pepper clothing, decorations, etc?

Too bad you're not going farther west and that it's after labor Day. Labor Day weekend has the annual Chile festival in Hatch, New mexico. That is the region where most of the long red and/or green chiles are grown. During the celebration, they have propane roasters roasting the green chiles. You peel off the blackened skin and have the greatest tasting chiles. Some growers grow hot ones, some mild, and others in between. The reds are sold in bulk in in long threads called ristras. I like the Sandia variety. they are hot, but not mouth burning. A lot of heat with flavor.

In New orleans,The mall attached to the Hilton which is called River Walk, I believe has several plus a neat sampling area. It is where the cruise ships dock and board. They also have another place that specilizes in chili pepper clothing. I like that mall due to the food, ambience and neat view of the cruise ships and the mighty Mississippi. Paul E. Sundancer, I was in that mall (River walk) a few years back. It was the first place I had "MUD BUGS" and they were awesome! I picked up some frozen at a supermarket here in New Jersey when I got home and they were terrible. I guess getting them right next to the Mississippi is the only way. Looking forward to returning someday.
