Blackie's House of Beef in Wash DC - closed??

We happened on this place on our trip to DC about 3 years ago. What a find! It had such a history, incredible ambience and the food was excellent. So why last night, after booking another trip to DC (so I can go to Blackie's again), do I find on Google that even after winning multiple awards, it's gone out of business!!??
Does anyone know the story behind this? I'm heartbroken...It was a restaurant I would happily die in. I'm big on atmosphere and ambience, and this place had it for me, to a tee!
